Pacific FS Drum Set Review
As the old saying goes, it’s not always the price of the drum set that matters, it’s the magic the drummer can produce from it that counts. Unless the kit is junk, of course. But the Pacific FS Series Drum Set is far from junk, not with all Birch shells that deliver a fantastic range of sound, depending on the tuning skill and preference of musician. Cooler, more flexible than maple, more organic than steel, Birch offers a versatile sound that works well in all styles of music, and is also the choice wood for the studio. Medium thickness shells add a great combination of projection and resonance, suitable for small venues without microphones, or larger rooms where a mic is in the mix. All-Around Quality Sound
Three mounted toms on the 5-piece, and 4 mounted toms on the 6-piece, offer a range of play good drummers will appreciate. All the shells leave the factory with Remo heads, but you might find just about anything on used kits. The hardware added to the set ups the value level, with quality stands ready for your choice of cymbals.
Conclusion
The Pacific FS Series Drum Set is a great beginners’ choice, if you want to start with a leg up. This kit will take you quite a ways, and those who use it to play regular gigs have very nice things to say about it. New sets range from $789 to $999 for 5 or 6 shells, while used kits may be found for $450 to $700.
